New Patient Physical

Olive steps into Dr. Cross’ office for her routine physical, and nothing is skipped. The visit begins with vitals—blood pressure cuff tightening on her arm, pulse checked, thermometer under her tongue, and oxygen levels read from her fingertip. She’s guided to the scale where her height and weight are carefully recorded. From there, the doctor moves into a vision screening, asking her to follow the penlight and read the chart, then tests her reflexes with a quick tap of the hammer. Her ears, nose, and throat get a close inspection with the lighted scope and tongue depressor before the stethoscope comes out to monitor her heart and lungs, cool against her skin as she takes deep breaths.

Lying back, her abdomen is gently palpated for irregularities. Finally, Dr. Cross checks her flexibility, joints, and posture with stretches and simple movement exercises. By the end, Olive has received the complete head-to-toe exam, every step handled with clinical detail.
