Custom Fetish Video Shoots – Top 5 Things That Can Go Wrong

We’ve been producing custom fetish videos since 2014. The vast majority of our shoots go off without a hitch. But custom production has a lot of moving parts and sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Here are the most common curveballs we deal with and how we handle them.
1. Talent Cancels or Reschedules
This is the big one. Performers are humans with lives, and sometimes those lives get in the way. We’ve had models cancel because of illness, family emergencies, pet surgeries, flight delays, and personal situations that came up with no warning. We’ve had talent go on hiatus mid-scheduling. We’ve even had a model go completely silent on her agent the day before a shoot.
It’s frustrating for everyone involved, especially you. When it happens, we work to reschedule as quickly as possible. If the performer becomes completely unavailable, we’ll work with you to recast with someone comparable. We don’t just pick a random replacement either. We’ll send you options and make sure you’re good with the new cast before we move forward.
2. Location Falls Through
Most customs are shot in our studio, so this doesn’t come up often. But for scenes that need a specific setting (hotel room, office, outdoor location), we’re relying on a third party. We’ve had locations cancel on us last minute due to maintenance issues, double bookings, and scheduling conflicts. When that happens, we scramble to find an alternative or push the date. Your shoot still gets done but it might move a week or two.
3. Wardrobe and Props Don’t Arrive or Don’t Fit
If your script calls for specific wardrobe, we source it well ahead of time. But shipping delays happen. Sometimes a piece arrives and it doesn’t fit the performer. Sometimes it looks different than expected. We’ve had zippers that wouldn’t budge and dresses that were too small. We keep backup options on hand and our wardrobe team can usually make it work, but on rare occasions it means rescheduling so we can get the right pieces.
4. The Scene Runs Differently Than Expected
A script on paper and a scene on camera are two different things. Sometimes a position doesn’t look the way you imagined. Sometimes the pacing needs to shift. Sometimes the performers find a dynamic that’s better than what was written. We follow your script but we also know when to adapt in the moment. If something significant changes from what was agreed on, we’ll flag it and work with you on next steps.
5. Editing Takes Longer Than Quoted
Our standard turnaround is 15-20 business days from the shoot date. Most of the time we hit that window. But more complex productions with multiple scenes, outfit changes, or specific editing requests can take longer. If your edit is going to run past the estimate, we’ll let you know. We don’t rush the final product to meet an arbitrary deadline.
How We Handle It
The common thread in all of these is communication. When something goes sideways, we tell you. We don’t ghost, we don’t make excuses, we don’t pretend it didn’t happen. We explain what’s going on and give you a revised timeline. We’ve been doing this long enough that we’ve gotten pretty good at rolling with the unexpected.
If you get your finished video and something isn’t right, reach out. We want you to be happy with it. Most of our clients are repeat customers and that doesn’t happen if people feel burned by the process.
Custom production isn’t Amazon Prime. There are real people involved at every step and sometimes real life gets in the way. But we’ve delivered hundreds of customs over the years and we’ve never left someone hanging. Your video gets made.
